Yang Yang's birth name was Jiu Jiu. He was renamed by three organizations in the Netherlands that "adopted" him at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Yang Yang's name means "little sea."

Lun Lun and Yang Yang's first offspring. This panda cub birth at Zoo Atlanta was the fifth birth in a U.S. zoo in six years.
